One of my poems was selected as finalist for the 2013 Poetry Prize over at Indiana Review! I’m honored to be a finalist along with such terrific writers at such an outstanding publication. Here’s the blog post with poem and poet names.
Huge congratulations are in order for Jamaal May, whose poem “The Gun Joke” was selected by Nikky Finney for first place. Jamaal is a very gifted writer, and I definitely recommend finding some of his work and spending some time with it. Poke around his site a bit; he’s got some poems up, links to his chapbooks, and his full-length collection is coming out this Fall.
I look forward to Jamaal’s poem in the Winter issue of Indiana Review! And of course, thank you to the IR editors for honoring my poem with a finalist nod.
