Whoa! Huge thanks to Wayne Miller and the rest of the amazing crew at Copper Nickel for nominating my its-technically-a-sestina-even-if-every-end-word-is-the-same poem “Sestina for the Heartland” for a Pushcart Prize, along with the talents of Kaveh Bassiri, Sugi Ganeshananthan, Justin Jannise, Rebecca Lehmann, and Sarah Anne Strickley!
Who knows if the Pushcart folks will see fit to include it in the next anthology, but as they say about the Oscars, it’s an honor just to be nominated! Copper Nickel and Wayne have been so supportive of me and my work and this is just yet another thing I am grateful to them for.
