Recipient of an NC Arts Council Grant!

I’m so very humbled to share that I’ve been awarded a Regional Artist Project Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council for the 2017-18 grant season!

Grateful to the NCAC, to Avery County, as well as the grant board comprised of the regional councils (Asheville Area Arts Council, Toe River Arts Council, and the Madison County Arts Council) for their generosity and support. It means more than I can put into words (which is ironic for a poet, I suppose) to know that folks like these believe in me and my work.

Epithalamium Winner of Hoepfner Literary Award for Poetry

The other day I received the best news of 2017 (so far!), that my poem, “Epithalamium,” from Southern Humanities Review Issue 50.1&2, was named the Hoepfner Literary Award winner for Poetry.

Each year, the editors of Southern Humanities Review give the awards to an outstanding essay, story, and poem published in the previous volume.

I’m a little beside myself with surprise and gratitude to Aaron Alford and all at SHR for this honor and their support of me and my work.

You can read the full poem at SHR online here!
